• Buzzing Success at World Bee Day Celebration in Bosque Popular!

Sunday, May 19th, Bosque Popular Park was abuzz with excitement as we hosted this year’s World Bee Day event! Families from all around came to celebrate and learn about the crucial role native bees and pollinators play in our environment.

The day was packed with engaging activities tailored for all ages. Visitors embarked on guided tours to discover wild native bee hives nestled in the park, enjoyed delicious honey tastings and got creative with bee-themed t-shirt printing. In addition, there was a photo competition which was won by Amparo Castañeda because she managed to capture two crucial pollinators in one shot.

Children were captivated by enchanting stories from Juana the dedicated storyteller and marveled at the tricks of Arco the magician. Meanwhile, the little ones expressed their creativity through bee-inspired coloring activities.

This wonderful day of learning and fun was made possible thanks to the collaboration with Parque Bosque Popular and other partners: Abejas Vivas, Milenaria abejas y ecosistemas, Apiarios del Arco, Junta de la defensa Civil de Villa María, Corpocaldas and Alcaldía de Manizales through the Red de Ecoparques de Manizales). We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event a resounding success.

Stay tuned for more updates and make sure to mark your calendars for next year’s event. Until then, let’s keep buzzing for biodiversity and the protection of our precious native bees!
